Movie Report
About Rockstar:- As the Rockstar movie name suggests, the story is inspired by the rockstars' real life stories with full entertainment. The story follows Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) an uncouth, social nobody in college in Delhi. A good-for-nothing, uncooperative son at home. And a struggling-musician-with-little-hope to his friends and acquaintances...
But Janardhan wants to change all that. So when a well wisher discloses the secret behind all great success¦ that you have to fall in love and then break your heart. Only then will your music become better, deeper and you will be a star. Janardhan is determined to make it happen for him too.
He befriends Heer (Nargis Fakhri); the most beautiful, sophisticated and popular girl in college. The two strike an unconventional friendship, and spend their days together in reckless abandonment. Then Heer leaves and Janardhan continues with his regular life. He gives up music and joins the family business.
But fate has other plans. Janardhan and Heer meet again. This time things are different. Before he knows it Janardhan embarks on a tumultuous journey of self discovery, longing and restlessness only to realize that the very thing he spent his life looking for was in front of him the whole time...

About the Music:- There are tremendous expectations from the soundtrack of Rockstar. Reasons are aplenty. This is more than a decade after Taal that A.R. Rahman is composing for a full fledged Bollywood musical. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali whose Love Aaj Kal and Jab We Met have created waves when it comes to music (composed by Pritam). Moreover the young man in the title role is Ranbir Kapoor who is expected to be a true ‘rockstar’ in the title role. With ever-so-reliable Irshad Kamil as the lyricist, one expects nothing less than something extraordinary from Rockstar. Moreover, due to the film’s genre, you do want the album to throw at least 3-4 chartbuster tracks that would play for many more months to come, if not years. With as many as 14 tracks in the album, one is obviously led to believe that your wish would indeed come true
Special Thing about Rockstar:- Do not miss a brief glimpse of the legendary Shammi Kapoor - this is one his last films (if not the last one ?). Watch Ranbir Kapoor alongside gorgeous fresh face actress Nargis Fakhri. Nargis Fakhri is a Czech-Pakistani international model.

Movie Review:- Rockstar movie is release on day 11.11.11.The movie which is produced in partnership between Eros International Ltd. and Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. is the latest directorial venture for Imtiaz Ali.The movie is all about how a musician faces life and the various troubles that arrive with having rock music as a career ambition. Loosely inspired by the true story of the heavy metal band Judas Priest, this music industry fable from director Stephen Herek is based on a script by actor-turned-writer/director John Stockwell. Mark Wahlberg stars as Chris Cole, a wannabe rock star who works by day as a copy machine repairman and by night as the lead singer of Blood Pollution,
I think one problem with the film is that it is about a grand passion, and mainstream Hindi cinema is not equipped to show a grand romance except in the most inane form. So while the young couple kiss each other with great gusto, they can't do much more. Ali's journey into the recesses of an artist's soul remains superficial, amplified only by its tokens -- aphiranin Kashmir, a group of gypsies in Prague, a Haryanvi haveli for Delhi's semi-urbanites. Planes, cars, motorcycles. Take whatever mode of transport you will, you come right back to the single fact: this is a film that lacks discipline. All the Rumi quotations of the world cannot provide either. The film drives home an unscientific hypothesis that people who’ve endured sufferings/ heart break/ loose motions etc will reach their creative best.
On the surface, the film is about a guitar-toting dimwit transforming into an angry 'rock star', an expression that can perhaps give 'awesome' a run for being the most misused term in the English language (my boss sarcastically calls me rock star because I play guitar). But this film is devoid of any insight into an artiste's anguish, try as it might by quoting Jalaluddin Rumi.

Rockstar is what is called a one-time watch. Just don't expect too much.
